I’m not suggesting that you have to know everything but if you are not leading by example on the basics like prospecting, recruiting and team building you are not leading.
Surrounding yourself with great counsel is important.
Don’t get bogged down with the things that don’t build your business, that’s why there’s company support and training.
2. Has A Clear Vision
People want to follow a leader that has a clear and compelling Vision.
If you are one of those individuals, who believe you can just start your journey and hope for the best no one is going to follow you.
You have to have a clear Vision that your team can get behind and believe.
When you have a clear vision, you will be amazed how far people will go to be a part of your team.
3. Creates An Environment For Leaders
Leaders need to have an environment that is conducive to growth and building.
If your team feels like you can be the only leader and there isn’t room for anyone else the Leaders will move, and you’ll be left with a bunch of followers.
The great leaders create an environment that thrives and encourages Leadership and growth.
4. Creates Leaders Instead Of Followers
One of the best indicators of a Great Leader is the number of Leaders they have created in their team.
Combined with having an environment for Leader creation they take the time to nourish and mentor the leaders.
Creating great Leaders is so much more important than having a lot of followers.
I would rather have a team of solid leaders than a team of followers that I have to hold their hands.
5. Can Make The Tough Decisions
Great leaders know when to make the tough decision and make them.
Sometimes in every organization, you are going to have to make decisions that are uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Great leaders understand this and understand they have to be made.
These are five of the traits of a great leader, but there are much more that you will develop as you grow and become better.
