In his book, he talks about how this is the root of why most people just never realize their dreams and aspirations.
He clearly lays out for the reader in chapter one exactly what he means by resistance and all the attributes of this evil as he calls it.
I love how he clearly defines the challenge, shares how to combat the challenge and then goes on to share about what goes on beyond the challenge.
The War Of Art – Resistance
Book One: Resistance
In his first chapter or Book One, he defines what it is.
- Never Sleeps
- Plays for Keeps
- Fueled By Fear
- Only Opposes In One Direction
- Is Most Powerful At The Finish Line
- Recruits Allies
When I was reading through the book I was truly enlightened at how powerful this insidious force really is in our lives.
His ability to clearly lay out all of the areas which are affected and how they actually look with examples is so very valuable.
After just reading the first chapter I was amazed and just couldn't put the book down.
Book Two: Combating Resistance
In this chapter, he talks about the professional and defining what that looks like and how it relates to his evil 🙂
He has hit the nail on the head when it comes to what a professional really is in any profession.
Here are just a few of the qualities he talks about:
- Not a Show Off
- Doesn't Hesitate to ask for Help
- Thick Skinned – Does Not Take Failure Personally
- Endures Adversity
I love that he talks about YOU, Inc and branding you.
“The pro keeps coming on. He beats Resistance at its own game by being even more resolute and even more implacable than it is.”
Book Three: Beyond Resistance
In this book, he talks about the opposite forces that are working on our side.
I love how he continually talks about the need, requirement for the professional to just do it and do it and do it.
It keeps coming back to that consistency and never quitting no matter what your resistance maybe.
He talks about how when we START something magical happens that invokes help from outside forces.
He calls them muses or angels, but the point is that by committing to something and making that start things will begin to happen within you and outside of you.
He goes on to talk about the “Magic of Keeping Going” and not just stopping after one perceived success.
I love his chapter on Fear and how Resistance feeds on it.
Overall this is by far one of the best books I have read in a long time.
Pressfield has hit a bullseye with this one and I would highly recommend this book to any Network Marketer or Entrepreneur.
