Are You a Giver or a Taker?

Are You a Giver or Taker

Are You a Giver or Taker

This is such an important question that you need to answer if you are going to build a legacy, Are you a giver or a taker? As Entrepreneurs we need to learn that the more we become a giver instead of a taker, the more people we help become successful the more successful we will become.

I’m currently going through a workshop with Ray Higdon called ILT Workshop.  The basis of this system is this.

  1. Invest – This part of the system is where you invest in your education whether paid or free.  The old saying goes that if you are not learning or growing you are dying.  We need to be constantly growing in knowledge of our business, profession, industry, and most of all personally.
  2. Learn – This part seems pretty self explanatory, but you would be surprise how many people take courses, watch webinars, read books, and more and then it just sits.  The knowledge that they have just invested in hasn’t been really learned or put into practice.  “Knowledge without action is Useless”Eric Worre.  So if you stop at step one you are really losing out on the whole system.
  3. Teach – This is where the giver comes in.  I love what Ray says about being so very selfish by not sharing and teaching others what you have learned.  A lot people in this profession, sadly, are takers.  All they want is to get the most they can from others and then move on.  That is NOT what this wonderful Profession is all about.  All the great leaders and millionaires will tell you that we “Get to Give so we can GET to Give.”

I love Zig Ziglar’s quote [perfect_quotes id=”6184″]

There is no question that to be a giver is so much better than to be a taker.  Be a taker and take all the education that you can to become a better you.  Take the time to learn what you have taken and applying it to your life.  You owe it to others to become successful.

You might just be that person that helps that single mother/father, or the senior supplement their retirement, or that young person get on the right path to success.

You don’t know who you are going to impact and how.  But as you journey along taking all you can to better yourself be sure that first and foremost you are a GIVER and are giving back all that you learn.

So ask yourself today are you a GIVER or a TAKER, or maybe both.  I would encourage you to be both, a Taker of education and knowledge and a Giver of all you learn back to your profession and others.

Please share this with your team and comment below.  I hope these post will help us all raise the awareness and love of our wonderful profession.

God Bless and Have a Blessed Day.
