MLM Prospecting: Are You a Yes Man?
If you have never heard of the book by Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz you are really missing out.
When I first saw this title “Go For No” I thought this sounds like a catchy marketing slogan of some sort.
It sounded like “Just Say No” or “Go For The Moon” or one of those cliche’s that you hear so very often.
Finally, I couldn’t stand it any longer and I had to get the book on my iPad and read it to see what this NO concept was all about.
MLM Prospecting by going after the NO!
Well, the first thing I noticed was the SubTitle, “Yes Is The Destination, No Is How You Get There.“
So let’s start this discussion with that tagline in mind. Our ultimate goal or destination is that almighty YES!
If we set up our days goals with how many Yes’s we are going to get that day we will stop and feel like we have accomplished our goals.
How many times have you heard of a salesperson that set some goal of yes’s for the day and maybe accomplished that goal before noon?
What do they do? Exactly, they take off the rest of the day and go celebrate, go home to the family, or just reward themselves because they not only reach that day’s goal, but did it before noon.
Taking the same example above for the yes goal if before noon we received 3 yes’s but still had 10 more No’s for the day we wouldn’t be finished.
This accomplishes a couple of things, first because we have to get more No’s we may end up with more Yes’s also, right.
The second thing is we start to develop a tougher skin when it comes to getting those No’s, in fact, we start to look forward to them.
Of all the Prospecting Tips that I could give you this is by far one of the best, if not the best.
So at the end of the day the moral of the story is, it’s better to set your goals on getting more No’s than going for that perfect Yes.
Remember that “Yes is the destination, No is how you get there.“
