Personal Growth: 4 Levels of Competency
Part of understanding Personal Growth is understanding the 4 Levels of Competency and where you are in these 4 levels.
Personal Growth is one of those things that we all know we have to do, but we do it kicking and screaming. If you start to embrace the growth and the change it will be not only enjoyable but downright addicting.
Part of your personal development should be to become more competent in all areas of your business.
So in today's post I just want to go over these 4 Levels of Competency and let you decide where you are and what you need to do to move the next level.
Here Are The 4 Levels of Competency
1. Unconscious Incompetence
At this level, you don't even know how incompetent you really are. It's kind of a state of bliss.
This is the level where you've heard people say I just don't have a clue and you don't know how big and much that is.
Being competent at this level just doesn't happen.
Wikipedia defines this stage as The individual does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit. They may deny the usefulness of the skill.
2. Conscious Incompetence
At this point the individual knows they have a deficit but they are not certain what to do to correct this.
Making mistakes and learning from them is integral for their learning at this level.
Wikipedia defines this stage as Though the individual does not understand or know how to do something, he or she does recognize the deficit, as well as the value of a new skill in addressing the deficit.
3. Conscious Competence
This is the stage where the individual understands what they have to do and that they have to do something, but it doesn't come as second nature to them.
Something like when you first start driving. You know all the rules and mechanics behind driving, but you still have to concentrate on what you're a majority of the time.
This is where people might look at you as being competent.
Wikipedia defines this stage as The individual understands or knows how to do something. However, demonstrating the skill or knowledge requires concentration. It may be broken down into steps, and there is heavy conscious involvement in executing the new skill.
4. Unconscious Competence
This is where the individual becomes the expert. They make what they do look very easy.
It's like watching the figure skater and you are thinking to yourself, I could do that.
It's when you drive from point A to point B and don't really remember it, but you got there safe and sound.
Wikipedia defines this stage as The individual has had so much practice with a skill that it has become “second nature” and can be performed easily. As a result, the skill can be performed while executing another task.
The individual may be able to teach it to others, depending upon how and when it was learned.
So now the question is how to get to level 4 and become more competent in your business.
Consistent learning is the key. Whether that is from taking courses or on the job training you have to be learning all the time.
My mentor and friend Ray Higdon has a multitude of free and paid courses that are worth their weight in gold and help in your personal growth.
I hope you have learned something from the4 Stages of Competence. Would love to hear your thoughts on these levels. Please share and comment below.
Blogging Tips: How Important Is Generating Leads?
This is an age old question how important is generating leads? I probably get ask this question 4 or 5 times a week and the answer is always the same, “the Most Important Thing!”
If you are a blogger and are thinking that getting traffic is the most important thing you need to change your thinking!
Today I want to change your thinking and let you know that traffic without a way to collect leads is just worthless.
Think about how many people that may come to your site and never come back. If you don't have a way to capture that visitor then you have LOST that potential lead and sale.
Why Generating Leads is So Very Important!
I am constantly going through blogging tips and trying to get better with my blogging. This is always for the purpose of generating leads and creating a bigger list.
My mentor and friend Ray Higdon will tell over and over again that the way to make money is focused on getting leads and then adding value to that list.
Click To Tweet
Here are some things that you get from generating leads vs traffic.
1. You have an audience that has come to you and ask for information and value.
2. Leads are around for a long time for you to add value to, traffic comes and goes.
3. You can develop a relationship with your leads, traffic is anonymous.
4. Leads are a huge source for financial growth and building your primary business.
These are just a few of the benefits of generating leads. The bottom line is that traffic without a way to capture that lead is pretty useless.
The best of the Lead Generating Programs out there is blogging! Why, because it's your content and it stays around forever.
If you are always putting out value to the universe and you have a good FREE offer to capture leads. Unlike emails, your blog posts are out there as long as you have them on your blog.
You would be surprised how many people I find that have commented on old blog posts that I have done a long time ago. It's because they are still out there, unlike emails.
The other reason that blogging is so much better than other methods, like facebook and youtube, is because you own it.
You are not going to shut your own site down because you are promoting Network Marketing. Whereas you may and many have got shut down on facebook and youtube.
Final thoughts, start your blog and concentrate on delivering great content and capturing leads. Be willing to give it time and be consistent.
If you think that you can write a few articles and your will be on easy street, there isn't any sense even starting because you are wasting your time.
It's going to take some time and commitment, but I promise it will be worth it if you stick it out.
So if you want to Make Money with your blog, then be prepared to do the work and make sure you have a lead capturing system on the front page.

MLM Recruiting is the biggest questions most new recruits have. They are always looking for new ways to increase sign ups and increase conversions into their business.
But, what happens when you're doing all you can and your downline just isn't growing as fast as you expect it to?
If you have hit a wall with your MLM recruiting and are looking for new, fresh ways to increase your sign ups, income and authority, here are three methods for MLM recruiting you can implement now to get better results.
Recruiting for Network Marketers is all about building Relationships
While you see network marketers flooding the online MLM scene, so many people are getting this wrong that if you can recruit the right way online you will see incredible success. Online marketing is more than just shooting out a link about your business opportunity and hoping it attracts tons of people to your business. Those that understand how to leverage the power of social media the right way will see the most success.
3 Tips on Social Media Marketing
1. Don't send unsolicited links to people?
2. Focus on engagement and getting to know people by opening up the door to conversation, listening and building genuine friendships.?
3. Lead with your personal value, not what the company or its products can do for someone.
Learn How to Use Email Effectively:
Learning how to recruit via email is a great way to get prospects attention when it comes to sharing your home based business.
The key is to give your prospects the answers they need to make the right decision.
You want to create the least amount of resistance when recruiting via email. To do this, you should focus on the prospect.
That means not listing all the reasons why you are so excited to have found the company.
Next, you want to qualify and make sure the prospect genuinely has an interest before you send a single email.
Lastly, know how to get people in front of your opportunity without forcing them into watching your presentation or business overview.
The last method for network marketing recruiting is to use target marketing. If you know the types of people you want to work with, go after those, and focus on attracting those types of people to you.
That means attending events, webinars, and participating in online groups and forums that are aimed at your target audience.
This will help you surround yourself with your ideal prospect and make it that much easier to connect and engage with them through common interests.
This is the age of social media marketing for everything we do. The challenge is how do we professionally enter the world that is primarily design for fun.
People don't get on facebook and the other social media platforms to be pitched. They are there because they want to have and build new and old relationships.
If we always remember that it's all about creating that relationship and building rapport, we will start being ask about our business instead of having to force it down people's throat.

Happy Memorial Day – Thank Some Veterans This Weekend!
First I want to say Happy Memorial Day to all our Veterans past and present and their families.
“All Gave Some…Some Gave All.”
Sometimes as Americans we get so caught up in the holiday and having time off from work that we forget the reason behind the holiday and why we even have it.
I wanted to share with you some thoughts and prayers for you and your family on this Memorial Day Holiday.
Childhood Memories of an Amazing Veteran
I remember growing up watching old WWII War movies with my Dad on Sunday afternoons.
My Dad was a WWII Veteran and just loved watching the old John Wayne movies.
He used to remark that how funny it seemed to be watching movies about history that he lived. My Dad passed back in 2012
(93) just a few days after my 60th birthday and I think I miss most those Sunday afternoons watching those old movies together.
It was many years after watching those movies with my Dad that myself and my 3 older brothers all became a part of the Vietnam Conflict.
We now became a part of this family of Americans that chose to give a part of themselves so others could enjoy the freedom we all so dearly love and want.
I finally knew what my father went through as a Soldier serving his country in the far reaches of the world.
I ended up serving over 10 years in both the Army and the Navy and being privileged to travel the world and discover what an incredible Nation we live in.
On this Memorial Day May 25th, 2015, please remember that all the great freedoms that you now enjoy was at the cost of someone else.
If you are a veteran or have veterans in your family I want to, from my heart Thank You For Your Service To This Great Country!
Take a Moment this Memorial Day in silence and give thanks to our Almighty God and Our Veterans!
The next time you enjoy some of your freedoms that most of us take for granted remember this;
It is the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.”
I leave you with this, the next time you come across a man or woman in uniform, make a point to stop and thank them for giving their lives in service to you.
I want to leave you with these two great songs. The first one is by Billy Ray Cyrus – “Some Gave All” and the second is by The Goads – “Veterans of the USA”, enjoy.
Have a Blessed and Wonderful Day with Family and Friends – God Bless You and God Bless This Great Country!
P.S. Don't forget those who have and are serving in our police force and fire/rescue around this country.
