Everyone out there is your potential prospect!

How many of you have been told this before?  We are lead to believe that everyone we come in contact with is a potential prospect, customer or recruit for our MLM Business.

I'm not suggesting that you don't talk to people that you meet, but you need to understand that everyone is not your potential prospect.

MLM Lead Generation – What Is It?

To quote Mark:

The process whereby you find people through effective marketing that are interested in a specific topic, product or service that you provide.  You then collect their contact information usually an email address or phone number of both.

MLM Lead Generation Process

  1. Traffic – Must be target traffic, to a targeted offer.
  2. Capture Page – Must be congruent to the traffic you're sending to it.
  3. Follow Up – The Fortune is in the Follow Up.
  4. Sale/Recruit  

MLM Lead Generation – Who Is Your Target Market?

You need to determine who your target market is.  You need to ask yourself some questions to determine this.

  • What challenges/problems do YOU solve with your product or service?
  • What are your prospects goals, wants, and desires?
  • What are their challenges?
  • How does your product or service fix their challenges?

MLM Lead Generation – Attraction Marketing

Mark's great definition of attraction marketing:

The art of positioning yourself as an expert in a specific area or skill set that others find valuable.  Therefore, because you are found to know these skills that other desire to know, you become the one that others want to be around and learn from.

MLM Lead Generation – The Lead Magnet

An irresistible “Lead Bait” that gives value (a piece of the overall pie) to the prospect in exchange for their contact information which is usually their email address and sometimes their phone number.

Basically, a Lead Magnet is something that entices your prospect to give you their information in exchange for something of value that addresses their pain or challenges.

Your Lead Magnet 3-Step Formula:

  • Target Market Specific
  • High Value, usable, and easy to consume
  • Pre-frames them for your paid offer

Crafting Your Lead Magnet

  • Be Specific – Never be unclear!
  • Magic Pill – Make a big and high-value point they can take and get results with fast.
  • End Result – You want it to speak to their desired results.
  • Immediate Gratification – Give them something they can use RIGHT NOW!  Avoid long drawn out lead magnets.
  • Pre-Frame – A good lead magnet will Pre-frame your prospect to seek out more information from you.
  • High Value – A free offer shouldn't be cheap.  It should give them something they can use.  Perceived value is important as well.  Make it look professional.
  • Consume Quickly  – Create something your prospects can consume fast.  Avoid large video style boot camps or E-books that take forever to read.
  • Stand Alone Value – Yor lead magnet should have value all on its own.  Remember this is your first impression for your prospect, so you want it to be good.

I'm so surprised sometimes when talking to new or even seasoned Network Marketers when it comes to training and personal growth.

We would never consider going to a doctor that is not consistently getting better and learning more, yet we think that we should just somehow be successful without it.

I can tell you that if you want to become a professional in any career and most certainly Network Marketing then it's going to take training, personal development and commitment.

MLM Skills: 5 Levels of Competence in Network Marketing

So here are the 5 levels of Competence that every Network Marketer should understand and work on getting better at.

MLM Skills: Level #1 – Intentionally Incompetent

Believe it or not, there are those who get involved with MLM and know they are incompetent, but lack even the slightest bit of desire to get better or change who they are and what they have as skills.

These people will avoid training, events and really anything that even smells like education.

These people don't last long, but can be those who will try to suck the energy out of you demanding that you do everything for them.

Working with this group is really time wasted and is better spent on the next 4 levels and let this group just fade away.

You need to be careful because this group as small as they typically are can become cancer for your team.

MLM Skills: Level #2 – Unconsciously Incompetent

This group just doesn't know what they don't know.

This is how must of us start out.  We are excited about having our own business and the products we have. but we

Sadly we don't know that we are clueless when it comes to building that business.

This group believes it should be pretty straightforward and just go out and with excitement and enthusiasm try to build their business.

Sometimes they have some success.  You've all heard the old adage, “Ignorance On Fire!”

This only lasts for a short period of time.

MLM Skills: Level #3 – Consciously Incompetent

This group of Network Marketers now have grown to the level that they realize they are incompetent.

They know that they need to grow their skills and personal development.

This is the motivated teammate that knows they are incompetent and has a great desire to get better.  This is the person that we all want on our teams and we call them COACHABLE!

MLM Skills: Level #4 – Consciously Competent

This is the teammate that we love.  They are at the level that they are having great success and are constantly growing both in skills and personal development.

They understand how to build and train their team and have become duplicating machines.

Everything they do is because they have trained and understand what skills they need.

They have not become second nature yet but they are very close to this level.

MLM Skills: Level #5 – Unconsciously Competent

This is the ultimate level you want to strive for.  This is when your skill level has become second nature to you.

This is the place where when someone comes up to you and no matter what they say you just automatically respond with your training without thinking about it.

This is the level training you team becomes much easier because you can role play and teach without hardly thinking about it.

It's like muscle memory when it comes to sports, shooting and other physical activities.

Understanding where you people are and where you are is very important to the development of your team.

Once you understand, measure and improve so will your team and your lifestyle!

Blog Training: 6 Must Take Actions After PostingWhat do you do after you publish your blog post?  I hope this blog training in today's post will help you start doing the right things.

If you are interested in going through a comprehensive course on blogging from A to Z then you need to get Ray Higdon's 3 Minute Expert Course.

Especially when we first start we spend a good amount of time writing our blog posts.

The last thing you want is for your blog posts to just sit there and do nothing waiting for people to find them.

So now it's time to start taking action after EVERY post you produce so that you can get the rewards of all your hard work.

Remember that Content Marketing isn't just about writing blog posts and then publishing them, it's about so much more.

If you want your blog to really grow and gain readers then you’re going to need to do more than just hit the “publish” button. Don’t worry, though; I will help you transform your blog into a hub of activity.

Blog Training: 6 Must Take Actions After Posting

Blog Training Action #1 – Follow Up Answering Your Comments

The first thing is to follow up on all comments your readers are leaving on your blog posts.

It baffles me when I see a blog where there isn't any engagement in the conversation in the comments area.

This is the best place for you to connect with your audience, answer their questions and interact with them.

Comments on blog posts, however, can be extremely hard to get and can even take years for a blog to start seeing good activity in the comments section.

In order to help the process along, make sure to respond to those who do leave a comment.

Replying to comments can help to increase the amount of comments on that blog post and others as your audience will be more likely to engage if they see there is someone to engage with.

If your audience has questions and ask them in the comments but don’t get a response, they won’t be likely to leave a comment again.

Blog Training Action #2 – Create A Content Upgrade

I believe it to be important to explain everything you can about the topic you writing about.

If you are only going to half answer a topic then your readers will start going somewhere else to find what they need.

You also want them to come back again and again, which they will do if you take the time to answer their pain points using the content upgrade.

Content upgrades will give your audience the option to find out more information whether they’re happy with the information provided in your post or not.

For example, if I was doing a blog post on how to optimize the sidebar of a blog then I might add a content upgrade offering readers a downloadable guide to the top 10 plugins for their blog.

Not only would this help to offer my audience more information on the topic but it will also help to build my contact list as the content upgrade would be gated.

Blog Training Action #3 – Email Your List

This is probably the most critical actions you can take after you publish your blog post.

You already have a relationship with those who are on your email list.

This is your most loyal audience and is already interested in what you have to offer because they took the time to optin to your list.

Include the following in the email:

  • The first sentence should explain why you’re emailing and contain an anchor text link to your blog post.
  • The title of the blog post should be the next sentence and standalone so as to stand out to recipients. If you stay consistent with the structure of your emails then your contacts will begin to learn where to click without thinking.
  • You can then include a couple of very short paragraphs to explain what the blog post is about and why it will benefit them if they read it.
  • At the end of the second paragraph, you can include another anchor text such as “click to read more”.

Blog Training Action #4 – Outreach to People Who Have Been Mentioned In The Post

Within you blog posts you may naturally link to other websites and blogs, especially if you are referencing their products or training.

You might assume that they will see what you have posted, but you would be surprised how many people just don't monitor who mentions them on the internet.

Since it's a win-win situation when you mention them you should reach out to them and let them know that you have linked to them.

This doesn't mean that you email them or contact them through social media and request that they link to your post just because you linked to them.

How about emailing them and letting them know how much you loved what they had to offer and because of that you mentioned them in your post.

Much more professional way to approach the mentioning action!

Blog Training Action #5 – Discuss In Forums and Facebook Groups

I'm a part of a number of reciprocal commenting and sharing groups that consist of like-minded entrepreneurs.

Each day we agree to share and comment on the blog posts that are posted.

Everyone posts all over the Social Media platforms and just hopes for some interaction and sharing.

The most effective groups are ones that you are an active participant in along with the other members.

Don't be a spammer, spend the time to develop relationships with the groups you are a part of and then become an active participant.

Blog Training Action #6 – Monitor Your Keyword Rankings

Last but not least, once you have published your post you should be monitoring your keyword rankings.

While the long-tail keywords you’ve been targeting in your blog posts won’t have an effect on rankings instantly, it is important to track and monitor them.

There are some very good tools online that you can use to monitor keywords such as Pro Rank Tracker.

All you need to do is add the URL of your blog post as well as the long-tail keyword you have used in the blog post.

You can leave this to track and monitor and revisit how it’s performing in a few weeks… not a few days.

If after a month or so, if your blog post isn’t on the third page or higher in the search rankings then it is a sign that you targeted a keyword that is too difficult for you to rank for yet.

If this is the case, you can simply go back to that blog post and edit it to use another less competitive keyword and check back again in a few weeks.

If you follow these 6 steps after a publishing every blog post, you will start to see a lot more traffic heading your way as well as increased engagement.

Here is a quick roundup of the 6 steps:

  1. Make sure to respond to all comments made on your blog posts.
  2. Offer your audience content upgrades to capture their interest.
  3. Share your blog posts with your email list who may share on their social media for greater reach.
  4. Contact those who you have mentioned in your blog posts to say that you have mentioned them.
  5. Share your blog posts in forums and in Facebook groups when it is relevant and natural.
  6. Keep track of the keywords you are targeting in your blog posts.

How to Deal With Haters And Nay SayersHow to deal with haters and naysayers. If you are in Network Marketing there are going to be people that are going to try and steal your dreams.

Understanding more about these people and learning how to handle them can be the difference in making it or quitting.

When I first got started in MLM so many years ago I was a very young, nieve and enthusiastic young man.

I never realized that people wouldn't just jump on board with me and we would conquer the world.

My family and most of my friends thought that I was crazy and that someone should do an intervention to help me out.

How to Deal With Haters And Nay Sayers

There are a few things that I learned over the years, and I want to just share that with you.

First off, you're never going to please everybody. There's always going to be people out there that are going to have an issue.

They're going to be dream stealers. They're going to be people that will do anything and everything they can to not let you get further along in life than they are, and the way they do that is by telling you, things like. you're in one of those pyramid things.

You're in one of those pyramid things.

You're going to ruin your family.

You're going to ruin your life. You've got to stop. What are you thinking of? You've gone off the deep end.

You're going to ruin your life. You've got to stop. What are you thinking of? You've gone off the deep end.

You need to understand there are two things that I believe that will help you to overcome these things.

One of those things is having a vision, a vision that is bigger than you. Ray Higdon, my

Michael Beckwith has a saying that “pain pushes you until your vision pulls you.”

I totally agree with that. Once you've got that vision that pulls, then it doesn't matter what anybody says. You've got the passion. You have the vision. It's going to pull you past all the naysayers, all the haters.

The second thing is that you need to separate yourself from the outcome. You need to separate yourself from results. You need to separate yourself from people's opinions.

Once you do that you're not going to care about what they think or what they don't think.

I have found over the years that when someone comes up to me and says I can't believe you're doing this, my response is to them now is that is cool. I can't believe I'm doing it either, but I know it's something that's going to change my life, my family's life, and leave a legacy for those that I love behind.

Let me ask you a quick question. Do you know anybody in your life that might be interested in doing those things with their family?

Don't ever let the naysayers, the dream stealers, those haters take away from you what you know you have. Become passionate about what you're doing, detach yourself from the results, and I guarantee that they will no longer have an effect on you.

When things don't matter, when you're good at what you do, when you are passionate about what you believe in and you have a vision that is pulling you every single day, the haters, the naysayers, the dream stealers will have little or no effect on you.
