INVEST –

We all are or should be investing in our education.

Whether it's for our business or personal growth, we need to invest.

We Invest our time and our money to grow and get better.

LEARN –

Once we Invest in our education and growth, we need to learn it and put it into practice, so we have some results.

It's here where most people stop the process.

We Invest and Learn and then just stop there.

TEACH –

Teaching what we have Invested in and Learned is where your endless supply of valuable content can be drawn.

This is when you start becoming one of the experts in your niche'.

People will start looking to you for the answers to their challenges and pain points.

Relevant Content – Idea Sources

Here's is a short list of source ideas that might help:

  •   Courses you take or have taken
  •   Seminars you have attended and taken notes
  •   Grocery store magazines for your niche' market
  •   Best Selling books in your niche'
  •   Forums
  •   What's hot currently in your marketplace
  •   Guru's Social Media, blogs, sales pages
  •   The list goes on…

Consistency doesn't mean once a month or a couple of times a year, but consistently on a weekly basis.

The keys are consistency, valuable and relevant.

It's a strategy how to deliver your content marketing on a consistent basis effectively.

Here some examples of Strategies:

The first thing you need to decide is what strategy you are going to use and then become an expert in that strategy.

I have friends that have chosen to use Social Media as their marketing strategy and are killing because they are consistently providing value.

For me, I chose to blog because I love the reach and longevity of the content.

I can tell you for me being consistent with my marketing and adding value to the marketplace has changed everything.

I now consistently have people reaching out to me instead of me chasing people down.

5 Simple Secrets To Creating Great HeadlinesOne thing blog articles, Facebook ads, Landing pages and emails all have in common is they rely on Great Headlines.  Having a compelling headline can make all the difference.

When it comes to crafting great funnels and landing pages ClickFunnels is the best program out there.

5 Simple Secrets To Creating Great Headlines

A good headline means a better conversion.

One common concern among funnel builders is that their headlines sound well, like a product pitch.

In some cases, they can even sound downright sleazy and salesy.

You don't want your headlines to fall in either of those categories.

1.    Stay Relevant and On-Point

In many cases, you have seconds to impress your leads and keep them looking.

With that in mind, you need headlines that are relevant and get to the point.

Getting away from the message or including irrelevant information is a surefire way to push them away.

Example: From Apple

Protip: Consider what type of information your audience is looking for and expects when crafting your headline for the most relevance for them.

2.   Master the Art of Urgency

If you haven't  guessed by now, having urgency is a pillar of marketing and sales.

When we bring Urgency into our headlines, it increases the chances that your audience will be pushed through the next steps in our funnel.

But to avoid sounding sleazy, don’t overdo urgency in your headlines.

Example: Dropbox’s headline works because it references specific needs and desires of its audience.

Protip: Really, the urgency is about pointing out a problem your lead has and offering a solution all at the same time. To best accomplish this goal with your headlines, create a checklist of issues your audience has that your brand is uniquely able to solve for them.

3.   Make it About Action

Another key way to avoid sleazy headlines is to give off a general feeling of action.

The benefit is that they don’t just want to buy another item or service.

Throughout its long history, this brand has been a real force in the marketing world, and our headline example is no different.

By inviting people to come on a journey, the brand asks them to feel like they’re taking action.

They also get a real experience that they’re sure to enjoy.

This is the right way to create an authentic sounding headline.

Example:  Coca-Cola.

Protip: For a bonus strategy, you’ll notice that our Coca-Cola example also uses a prevalent tactic called alliteration. By starting each word with a “J,” the headline is easier to remember and has a nice ring to it.

4. Keep it Simple, Simple, and Simple

Although there’s nothing wrong with marketers getting clever, too often, it can also hurt their conversion rates.

And it’s not hard to understand why… many times what might impress a marketing team won’t necessarily translate to their audience.

For example, if we were marketing toys to 3rd graders, a witty turn of phrase might be lost on them.

Instead, keeping it simple almost always makes sense.

In our example McDonald’s wants the message to hit as much of their potential social media audience as possible.

That means appealing to young and old alike. Keeping it basic also has the benefit of not sounding gimmicky or try-hard the way salesy headlines often sound.

Example:  MacDonald's

Protip: Our McDonald’s headline is very stripped down, and this level of minimalism might not always work for your headline. But it features just how simple you can make a headline and still get results.

5.   Avoid Gimmicks and Focus on Value

After all the hard work you’ve put into your brand, you want your market to experience how your brand is a true industry leader.

In the example from McDonald’s below, you can see where they have a stripped down message.

The message here is that more choices, for their market, equals more value.

Instead of worrying about creating a headline that tries to find some angle or gimmick over their readers, the brand opts for an already existing strength.

Headlining those strengths is an excellent way to write converting headlines.

Example:  MacDonald's

1.    Have a Vision

You have probably heard that you need to know your WHY and that will drive you.

I'm here to tell you that I believe that a Vision will keep you consistent and keep you going through the tough times.

Your “why” is typically something that affects others.

Things like, I want to help my favorite charity or I want to buy homes for my parents or kids.

Your Vision is who YOU want to become.

2.    ILT

One of the things that most people have a challenge with is where to find content.

I know that was my first obstacle.  Where do I get enough ideas for daily content?

In the 3 Minute Expert Ray teaches a concept called ILT.

Invest, Learn, Teach

Most people are already doing the first two, Investing and Learning.

What most people don't do is the last part TEACH!

If you are always working on your personal development and personal growth you will always have content to deliver.

The more you grow and learn about yourself, your business and your target market the more content you will have.

3.    Do It Until!

The last thing is to not set yourself a set end date.

As soon as you say I will do this for the next 6 months something happens inside.

You start looking to that end and a conclusion.

Change your thinking to “I'm going to do it UNTIL.”

The only end to your process is UNTIL nothing more.

Content Marketing Plan: 5 Best Ideas for Blog Content

Here are the top 5 that I use and love.

1.    The Book on Your Bookshelf

You probably didn't even know that you had a wealth of content ideas right on your book self.

Understand that I'm not suggesting that you copy word for word or plagiarize the information, but there is nothing wrong with reading a book and then summarizing what you took away from it.

Of course, you would give the author all of his credit where appropriate but it would be your thoughts and ideas on what he had written about.

For example taking a book like “Think And Grow Rich” and creating a post on what you got from it and how it help in your business.

Depending on your bookshelf and how full it is could certainly be an endless supply of great posts packed with value for your target market.

2.    Book Reviews

People love book reviews.

Again using the books you already have or going out to Amazon finding a great book in your niche, reading it and then writing a review as a post for that day.

You never know who might be looking at reading that book and sitting on the edge and your review is what helps them to decide.

People are always looking for book reviews before they buy so why not be a source of that information for them.

3.    Create An In Between For Your Affiliate Programs

One of the things that are happening all over the internet these days is spamming your company and affiliate links all over the place.

Here's a great idea that Ray shared that just makes sense.

Why not create a video and blog post giving the reasons and benefit of your affiliate program and then sending them to your link after the watch and read.

You accomplish two things.

One you set yourself apart from all of the spammers and Two you are giving them value before you pitch them with anything.

That's what we call Marketing.

4.    Affiliate Course Sharing (ILT)

Ray has been talking about ILT forever and it's a great method for coming up with content.

Whatever Affiliate program you are with or whatever courses you take regurgitate what you have learned in the form of daily content marketing.

Most people will do the  Invest and the Learn parts but very few pass what they learn and do the Teach part.

This should give you another source of unlimited resources if you are continually working on your personal growth.

5.    Your Notes from Events, Meetings or Training

I love what Ray calls all of those notes that you take when you go to Events, Meetings, and Training.

All of your notes are really just un-cashed checks.

If you have been taking a ton of notes and just adding them to a pile of past notes and not passing this on to your target market then you are losing out.

In fact, I would say you are being selfish by not sharing this valuable information with your niche.

So those are my top ideas from Ray's 3 Minute Expert course and what I think about how to use them.

You need to have a Content Marketing Plan or you will get frustrated and find it very hard to stay committed to daily content creation.

Developing and understanding your Content Marketing Plan is a must.
