One of the biggest challenges most people have in Network Marketing is not turning into the salesy salesperson.

People just don't want to be sold.

This is a method where you are asking questions and listening to answers.

By asking questions you will find out what the prospect's want, needs, and desires are instead of pushing yours.

Becoming the Educator in your business will change how people look at you and your business.

So, we have hit on six of the seven Network Marketing Professional skills and today we will be talking about number seven – Promoting Events.

In Network Marketing, meetings make money.

It's just that simple.

The people that get the most people to the meetings will and are making the most money.

There are many types of events that you can have.

You could be doing local events on a monthly basis.

Your upline could be sponsoring a major event.

But, there is one type of event that is the most powerful and that is the destination event.

Some try to argue that the destination event is dead in the new technology world and people won’t travel for these things anymore.

All I can tell you is those people aren’t top earners in our profession.

If you study what the successful people do to build their Network Marketing organizations, you will find that virtually every one of them uses destination events as a cornerstone for building their business.

There’s something magical about getting away from your day-to-day grind and focusing completely on your dreams.

Total immersion, even if it’s only for a weekend, is GOOD.

You can use it to refocus and recommit to your future and gather the strength necessary to go back home and do what’s necessary to move your business forward.

You gain strength from the presentations you hear during the event. Sometimes a person says something at just the right time in your life, and it changes you forever.

With destination events usually comes recognition programs which are great for competition and peer pressure.

So, when it comes to putting together your next event keep in mind the power of destination events.

There's something about getting away to some tropical resort that just makes everything okay!

It's a time of renewal and re-commitment to your business.

The very first step in developing a culture that promotes attendance at destination events is for you to be more committed than anyone else.

So, the next time an event is announced be the first one in your group to get your ticket, period

Network Marketing Professional Skill – Starting Them Right

“If you succeed in this business, it’s going to be you who creates that success, not me. And, if you fail in this business, it’s going to be you who creates that failure, not me. You are going to be the difference between success or failure. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, but I can’t do it for you. I’m here to work with you, but not for you.”

The importance of making sure your new prospect has reasonable expectations.

Identifying the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to Network Marketing is your job.

Your job is to encourage train and set them on the right path.

Network Marketing Professional – Starting Them Right 

1.   Make Sure Your New Prospect Has The Right Products

Every company has some sort of product/monthly commitment.

It's imperative that you set them up properly and explain to them the importance of being a product of the product.

What they do there team will do!

2.   Make Sure They Have All The Tools They Need

Introduce them to all of the tools they need to build their business like a professional.

Having the right tools and training to use them is critical.

This will teach them how to be duplicatable in their business.

3.   Make Sure They Get Connected To The Team Groups

Teach you, teammate, how to get connected to all of the Social Media groups that are available.

Getting connected with like-minded people is crucial.

So, if you have any groups make sure they get added as soon as possible.

Having this support mechanism is key.

4.    Make Sure The Understand The Basics Of The Comp Plan

Unfortunately, most people have NO understanding of their comp plan.

Then there are those analytical people that have to know every detail.

So, you need to have a basic understanding but not necessarily all of the details.

I give them the basics to get to the building block of the comp plan.

In our company, it's Team Developer.

5.  Make Sure They Know The Fundamentals of Inviting

So, if we step back to one of the first skill sets we see Inviting.

Inviting is one of the first things the new person needs to get good at.

If you can't invite someone to see your presentation you will never have success.

So, I can't stress enough the importance of teaching them to invite properly

Network Marketing Professional Skill Set #6 – The Game Plan

So, here's the most important step in getting your new partner started right.

Create a game plan for them.

Teach them how to get their first customer.

Show them how to get their first promotion in the comp plan.

So, Let them know how simple it is to have success, but that it does take dedication and work.

Get them in profit in the first week!

Lay it out clearly and simply!

Network Marketing Pro - Helping Prospect Move ForwardNetwork Marketing Pro - Helping Prospect Move ForwardNetwork Marketing Pro - Helping Prospect Move ForwardThis skill is a natural byproduct of following up with the Network Marketing Professional.  As they go through the process it's your job to guide them to a decision.

After you have spent the time to go through the first four steps you now need to master bringing it home.

Most prospects aren't going to just jump on the bandwagon without some guidance.

Network Marketing Professional – Helping Prospect Move Forward

You need to be properly prepared to guide them to the next logical step, signing up.

The first thing you need to do as a Professional is to become emotionally detached from the outcome.

Secondly, you need to become very assumptive in your approach.

Third, learn to promote yourself as much as you promote the product or opportunity.

Fourth, always be prepared.

Last but certainly not least learn to ask questions and become a great listener!

Network Marketing Professional – Some Questions

Here are some basic questions that might help you get started.

  •   “Did it make sense to you?”
  •   “What did you like best about what you just saw?”
  •   “Pretty exciting, isn't it?”
  •   “Can you see how this could be an opportunity for you?”

Of the above examples, my favorite is “What did you like best.”

If at this point if you feel like they may need more information and you need to guide them to the next exposure.

Question #1:

“Based on what you’ve just seen, if you were to get started with this company on a part-time basis, approximately how much would you need to earn per month in order to make this worth your time?”

Instead of asking this question, most distributors say things like,

“How would you like to make $10,000 a month?”

Don’t do that. Instead of prescribing what you think they want, just ask them what it would take to make it worth their time and wait for their answer.

Question #2:

“Approximately how many hours could you commit each week to develop that kind of income?”

Now they have to go inside their head and check their mental calendar to see how much time they would invest to get that kind of money.

Question #3:

“How many months would you work that kind of hours in order to develop that kind of income?”

This question makes them think about their level of commitment if they want the income from question #1.

Question #4:

“If I could show you how to develop an income of (their answer to question #1) per month, working (their answer to question #2) hours a week over the course of (their answer to question #3) months, would you be ready to get started?”

Most of the time, you’ll get a positive answer to this question.

And when people say, “Sure, show me how” you can pull out your compensation plan and sketch out a reasonable game plan to achieve their goals.

At the end of this process, if you still don't get a positive answer to the four questions it's okay.

What this means is that your prospect just needs to be guided to more exposures.

Schedule the next and repeat until done.

This is certainly a skill that will take practice, but it's a skill that will serve you the rest of your career in Network Marketing!

Becoming A Network Marketing Professional - Skill Set #3 PresentingWe've talked about the first two skills of Becoming a Network Marketing Professional which were Prospecting and Inviting your prospects to a presentation.

If you have sent them a link to a tool that they are watching on their own you have very little to do.

Your primary task in the above case is Follow up.

If on the other hand, you are physically with them, you may have some challenges to overcome.

Network Marketing Professional – Skill #3 Presenting

So, what are some of the challenges when giving a presentation?

The first one and probably the hardest to correct is YOU!

You need to take YOU out of the picture and not make you the issue.

So many newbies will sit down to do a presentation and start with “Let ME tell you…”

The second challenge is your prospects may know that you are not the expert so don't present yourself as one.

The third challenge is if you are successful in becoming the experts you will find that not many of your team are willing to do the same thing.

This will make what you are doing unduplicatable!

“In Network Marketing it doesn't matter what works.  It only matters what duplicates.”

Network Marketing Profession – Presenting Tips

The pros bring passion, enthusiasm, excitement, and belief.

If you ever watch a pro at work, you’ll see a fire in them that is contagious.

Make passion, enthusiasm, excitement, and belief your priority, then invite professionally and let the third-party resource do the rest.

You need to start with learning how to give a short and effective testimonial.

People are really interested in how much you know, but they are interested in your story.

A great theme for your story would be, If I can do it, anyone could do it.

Network Marketing Profession – Four Elements of a Good Story

  1.   Your Background
  2.   The things you didn't like about your background
  3.   How Network Marketing or your company came to the rescue
  4.   Your results, or how you feel about your future

The evolution of becoming a great presenter:

  1.   Crafting Your Story
  2.   Learning the Standard Opportunity Presentation
  3.   Learning different training presentations.

Network Marketing Profession – Summary

  1.   When you are prospecting, you are the messenger—not the message. Get yourself out of the way and use a third-party tool.
  2.   Learn to tell your story in a way that will make your prospects curious to hear more.
  3.   When it comes to presenting in front of a group of people, preparation is key. When you’re prepared, it’s fun.

This skill set is one, like the others that have to be practiced and practiced.
