Is Network Marketing A Better Way?
I’m not sure what the statistic is but my guess is that probably 80% or better have been approached in some shape or form with a Network Marketing opportunity. If that is you then maybe you should read this post and just look at the facts concerning Network Marketing and the JOB.
First I want to give credit to Ray Higdon and Eric Worre for supplying me with some facts and statistics for this article. These are two Great Leaders in the Network Marketing Profession and I have learned so much from both of them, Thank You!
Let’s talk about the JOB side of the equation first.
We have all been taught that when we grow up to either go to college, or a trade school, get a JOB and then work for 40 years in hopes of having enough to retire at some future point while your health is still good.
Let me tell you personally that this is one of the biggest lies we are taught in our lives. I know that those who are teaching us this are well meaning, but it’s just not TRUE! The cold hard reality is that there is very little security in having a job like there was 50 or 100 years ago.
Here are some facts that I got from a post that Ray Higdon wrote on security.
– Target in January announced it was taking out 1,175 jobs, including 465 layoffs (source: USA Today)
– Microsoft announced planned headcount reduction of up to 18,000 (source: USA Today)
– Hewlett-Packard told investors that it plans to cut an additional 11,000 to 16,000 jobs. (source: USA Today)
– Coca-Cola plans to cut 1,000-2,000 jobs globally in the coming weeks (source: CNBC)
– BP Oil will cut thousands of jobs cut across its global oil and gas business by the end of next year in a $1 billion restructuring program (source: Reuters)
– 3,700 job cuts this fall will hit 11 percent of Sprint’s employees company-wide (source: Kansas City Star)
These are just a very small example of the job cuts that have happened over the past year. These are some of the biggest companies in the world, and I’m sure these employees thought they were very secure in their jobs and careers.
It is my opinion that there is very little security in the traditional job market in this day and age. People who have thought they were on a path to retirement bliss are back out on the market look for work. I know I was one of these people!
Now Let’s talk about Network Marketing.
The Business Dictionary defines Network Marketing like this; “Direct selling method in which independent-agents serve as distributors of goods and services, and are encouraged to build and manage their own sales force by recruiting and training other independent agents.”
Basically Network Marketing is an average everyday person’s opportunity to build an organization based on products and a team of distributors. Some have called it the “Private Franchise” model.
However you want to define it, it is an opportunity to build a legacy for you and your family. Does that mean it doesn’t take work and have all the same pitfalls of what we call traditional business, of course it does.
It’s like anything else you do, you get out of it what you put into it. If you are looking for a get rich scheme, Network Marketing is NOT IT!
Robert Laura wrote an article in Forbes that I thought was very interesting titled “Would You Join A Multi-Level Marketing Company For Retirement Income.”
I love this quote from the article, “Many people don’t realize that multi-level marketing companies are successful because they help people satisfy a number of important human needs, including feeling significant, having connections, learning something new, and making a difference. I have heard people in network marketing say again and again, ‘I’m doing this because I’m meeting amazing people … making so many connections … and I feel so good about myself.”
Eric Worre is one of the Top Promoters of taking Network Marketing to new heights. His website NetworkMarketingPro promotes Network Marketing as a Better Way and how to become a PROFESSIONAL Network Marketer.
The promise of fast income and pie in the sky lifestyle can be very misleading. Have people made great money with Network Marketing, absolutely. Does it take hard work, yes, but it is worth it!
You are your own boss, good, bad or indifferent. You can’t be fired. You determine your income and raises and You determine who you are going to work with. The Bottom line is you are the one who is in CONTROL!
All in all, I believe without question the Network Marketing is a BETTER WAY!
I hope this has shed some light on the age old question of JOB vs Network Marketing. Please share and comment below.
