So, to continue my series on Becoming a Network Marketing Professional let’s go to Skill Set #2 which is Inviting and getting people in front of your presentation.
Once you’ve identified who your prospects are the next skill you need to master is Inviting.
Network Marketing Professional – Inviting
Eric calls this the “Gateway Skill” for Network Marketing.
It is certainly one of the critical skills you need to master.
No is going to just magically view your presentation unless you Invite them!
When you switch your mentality from being the hunter to being the hunted you realize that you are just educating people on what you have to offer.
Inviting them to see what you have to offer and let them decide.
Network Marketing Professional – Two Steps
The first thing the Pro’s did was to invite people to attend some sort of event.
This might have been a one-on-one, a three-way phone conversation or maybe a small group meeting.
The second thing the Pro’s did was to invite the people to review some sort of tool.
With today’s technology, it’s so easy to send somebody to a great video and even track when they have watched it.
I have found that using tools is a far better way to build a huge team and much more duplicatable.

“Your ability to get a large group of people to consistently do a few simple things over an extended period of time.”
As a professional, you are going to be inviting your prospects to review a tool or attend an event.
Here’s what you’re NOT going to be doing: You’re NOT going to be pitching people and trying to dazzle the world with your wisdom.
That approach will feed your ego but steal from your bank account.
Network Marketing Professional – Four Rules
There are four rules when it comes to the emotion behind inviting.
One – Be detached from the outcome.
Two – Be Yourself.
Three – Bring Some Passion to the game.
Four – Have a Strong Posture.
Network Marketing Professional – Eight Steps
The last thing I want to share are the eight steps to the Professional Invite.
This may sound complicated, but with a little practice, you’ll find that you have mastered the skill of inviting.
- Be In A Hurry
- Compliment the prospect
- Make the Invitation
- If I, Would You
- First Confirmation – Get the time commitment
- Second Confirmation – Confirm the time commitment
- Third Confirmation – Schedule the next call
- GET OFF THE PHONE!
